woohoo! i'm still alive!! two months of no blog post (save for a few lousy ones done from my cellphone while trying not to fall asleep during afternoon japanese classes). i'm behind on blogging, i'm behind on all my snail mail, i'm behind on kanji lessons, i'm behind on grammar lessons...whew!

the only thing i'm updated on is shinsengumi! wow...i never thought i'd be a fan of shingo mama, hehe. but yeah, i'm a convert! shingo mama, i forgive you for kissing gackt!! mwah! i still think yamamoto koji is better looking than he is but shingo makes the better shinsengumi leader. last sunday, he had on his shinsengumi regalia...drool fest! well, of course, the cuties aren't the only reason why i watch shinsengumi as if my life depended on it. i'm really interested in japanese history and kyoto and samurais. (gosh, okita souji is really cute for a sickly guy...and hijikata, wow! he looks even better when he's mad!) okay....

the japanese proficiency exam is coming up really soon; in fact, i only have 26 days to go...26 short days to cram kanzen master level 2 into my soupy brain...26 short days to memorize 1,024 kanji...26 short days to try to remember everything from minna no nihongo to j301 to j501 to kanzen master...>_< i do try to study at least an hour (or two) each night but i can't help but get a little worried...

sensei said something that made me feel really good about myself...we were talking about this grammatical pattern in class 向きだ (~muki da) which means ちょうどいい(fit for something)...i was the example!! ok, here it is...some of the nihongo center teachers asked him how i was in class and what he thinks of me as a teacher. he answered "向かないことはないが、なりたくない" (roughly translated "there is no reason why she is not fit to be a teacher, but she doesn't want to be one). hu-wow! then he asked me if i really didn't want to so i said, "なりたいです!". maybe i do have a future in teaching japanese! who knows?!
