i haven't been posting much lately...too busy with school, too busy with my new job.
herb is getting impatient! i didn't really think people read my blog but oh well, hehe. anyway, for the sake of posting something, here's that quiz i got from herb's blog. i would really prefer pink but i wasn't as lucky as
jerv!
You're orange. You're strong and have the reflexes
of a tiger. You're overly protective, and
those skills come in handy... You're a natural
person, with a taste for natural foods (I mean
organic, here.). Well, that's not true.
...Just food in general! You're as
quick-witted as your reflexes, and sometimes
painfully logical. You love wild animals and
pets. (Preferably wild animals!) You're a
natural person, and a true child of Gaia.
You're a stimulating, and outgoing person. You
enjoy making people think, especially with your
infectiously spontaneous attitude. You're a
generally optomistic person, with a love for
showing off all of your good traits. Although
many people may see you as strung-out, or just
plain weird, you're very down-to-earth and
humble. You're incredibly sweet (as this
color's other name!), and you care about people
in general. As this color would describe,
you're energetic beyond all human
comprehension. You've got a nack for drawing,
and you enjoy it, too. When it comes to
school, you're a good listener with an even
better memory. You're studious... At least
when you need to be!
What color are you? (Amazingly detailed & accurate--with pics!)

hehe, found this on
herb's blog. somehow, i just knew what my results would be!
Which Philippine Presidentiable Are You?
yup, i voted for her; i still have the indelible ink on my fingernail up to now. nope, i don't think she is a bitch. i think the problem with the filipino people is that they never gave her the chance to prove her worth. she did inherit a messy government after erap was ousted; you can't just expect her to perform miracles overnight. she is, after all, human. but she is a hardworking human and i think it is unfair that people are bound to believe anything they hear about her without even trying to find out the truth. like this classmate of mine from my japanese class (yup, grace, if you are reading this, i'm talking about you). she said that the gsis corruption issue was true; gma was stealing from the nation via the gsis. hello?? have you worked for gma? no. do you know what kind of person she is? no. so really, i found that unfair. obviously, you can't say that she is stealing our money. and besides...you didn't even vote. why are you complaining, anyway?
i don't know gma personally but i know enough about her and her family to say that she will never do such a thing. some of her political enemies are having a hard time finding faults about her so they decided to just attack her family members and her political allies. how desperate is that? she works hard for you and me and she fears God. i wish some people will just shut up already. i remember what violy-sensei told the class a couple of years back..."if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, just keep your mouth shut". cheers, sensei!

a loooong post...
this is probably one of my life's best weeks ever!
monday, may 24th
i got a call from the company...i got the job!! woohoo!! i will probably start in two weeks or so. in the meantime, i just wanted to enjoy the rest of my "vacation". ^_^ later in the day, i also started graduate school. at first, i was apprehensive about going to my first class. i was very excited but i was also worried about whether i will make friends easily or not. obviously, i was wrong. ^_^ the professor paired us up and i got paired with a nice guy named arleigh, who happened to be the big brother of alvin, one of our former interns at work. ^_^ nice! arleigh, that jolly good fellow...and intelligent too. ^_^ cheers to my new buddy!
the class was great too...even with the differences in ages and backgrounds, the people seemed nice enough...some were actually turning out to be the "chester" types...you know, clowns extraordinaire. ^_^ (although they don't have the same "chick" hairstyle as chester's, hehe)
wednesday, may 26th
my second day of graduate school. i was at the university early so i would still have time to look for my classroom. while wandering lost, i happened to come across -- what do you know, it was ritchelle!! ^_^ she introduced me to her friend, ella, who works for the foreign affairs department. i have heard a lot about her from ritchelle so she didn't seem like a stranger. anyway, they kindly showed my the way to my new classroom, which incidentally is in the same building as theirs. ^_^ convenient, huh? anyway, it wasn't a classroom at all; it was a conference room, hehe. the professor thought that not a lot of people were going to take the class so she used a smaller room. we came to over 20 people in class, so i expect we'll be transferring to a bigger room next week. ^_^ one of my classmates, bing, asked me what my name is...after all, we are in two classes together. so i told him and he said that he won't have any difficulty remembering who i was...because i looked like katie and cat is similar to katie...i said, "katie who?". then he said, "you know, that girl from 'dawson's creek'". goodness, i was over the moon!! he was actually the 9th person to tell me that...aww...
the prof handed us our course guides and reading materials and homework for the week (which i haven't touched, by the way, hehe) then dismissed us early. it was 7 pm, woohoo!! i made arrangements with mel and ate kat to meet after class at 9 pm. i was too early so i just waited for them at the gate. turns out, we missed each other; they couldn't reach me through my cellphone because my battery went dead early in the evening. as i was about to go home, i saw ritch and ella again. i invited them for coffee at starbucks, where we chatted until midnight! ^_^ ritchelle, that chatterbox. ella, chatting with me like we were good friends for a long time. i had so much fun! i didn't want to go home but they had work the following morning (i don't, obviously) so we had to go. i got home at around 1 am and when mommy asked me where i was, i said "school, with classmates", which was partly true. i was at la salle but i wasn't with classmates. oh well, i'm already 23 years old and i can look out for myself, thank you very much.
thursday, may 27th
i was bored and i didn't want to touch my school work. it was so hot at home that i decided to go malling after lunch. i didn't want to go far; i don't want to catch all of edsa's dust and grime so i just went to sm north edsa.
the very first thing i bought was the new eraserheads album called "eraserheads anthology". it wasn't actually new; it's a 2-cd compilation of all their best songs ever...all for 280 pesos a pop! what a steal! next, i shopped for clothes for school and casual fridays at work. it was a weekday but i was surprised at the number of people shopping. and it was right after midday too! you'd think they'd start pouring in after 5 pm. anyway, i noticed that the mall management changed the dressing rooms; they put the mirrors on the
outside of the dressing rooms. so if you want to try something on, you have to get inside one of the rooms, put on the clothes, open the door, look at yourself in the mirror, then close the door again. stupid, huh? it just makes the waiting time outside the dressing rooms a lot longer. thanks a lot, einstein.
on my way out of the mall, i noticed this small stall near the entrances;
world vision was advertising for child sponsors. for only 450 pesos a month, one can send a child to school. i chose to sponsor a little boy, who is about to turn nine years old and who has never stepped inside a school building before. his father is a tenant farmer and his mother is jobless. while i was signing the sponsorship form, i wanted to cry but i held back my tears, lest the lady beside me thinks i've lost it. it wasn't much, that 450 pesos/month fee, but i am happy i can still do something, even if i wasn't in government anymore (though i doubt that i was able to help a lot of people when i was in government, hehe). i'd like to think of it as a way to share my blessings. i have a new job, i started graduate school and nihongo class is still doing alright; i've been really blessed and i hope i convince a lot of people to be child sponsors too.
friday, may 28th
eraserheads playing all day! that anthology was worth every centavo! woohoo! brought me back to my high school days, it did. ^_^ it felt really good reminiscing about those days. ^_^
that night,
herb invited me for coffee. we were at coffee bean in tomas morato talking about the usual things: work, boys, music, boys, school, boys, japan...as always, we had a good laugh too. ^_^ it was past midnight when we decided to go home. i knew mommy would skin me alive but i didn't care much. i was with a good friend, i had fun, i got home safe...that's all i care about. ^_^
the problem is, i couldn't sleep much that night. i had hot chocolate with milk and i am lactose intolerant so my tummy was raging. i got to sleep when my tummy's rumblings finally subsided at about 3am.
saturday, may 29th
i didn't get proper sleep the night before so i got up really groggy and i almost thought of skiving off nihongo class, just this once. but no, being the (ir)responsible student that i am, i dragged myself out of bed and prepared myself for school, almost moving mechanically. i got to school on time, thank goodness. thirty minutes into the lesson, george arrived with some cds for mae-chan. she was sporting a new haircut becoming of mrs. teru. she looked good! ^_^ even mojica-sensei said so. anyway, mae-chan handed me a cd after george left...i was so touched! george made me a copy of the new glay album "the frustrated"! wow!! she included the lyrics too. double wow! thanks, george...you're a pal...
after school, gigi-san, alfred-sensei and i went straight to the masaki house in san lorenzo village; ate bel is making lunch again. ^_^ when we got there, the two oldest masaki kids, jun and hideo, were all over sensei. it wasn't their first time to see such a tall man; their dad is almost as tall as sensei but they were so interested in sensei that they chased him around the house, boxed him, messed up his hair, tried climbing over him. poor sensei...i'm glad it wasn't me. ^_^ i had my turn last week so yay!
we were so hungry that we didn't wait for violy-sensei and jimmy-san to arrive; we just went ahead and wolfed down our lunch! i know ate bel is a good cook but she outdid herself this time. we had tonkatsu, maki, onigiri, shabu-shabu, fried rice...onigiri, onigiri, onigiri...
violy-sensei and jimmy-san came with muffy and sensei's niece. i swear that baby's looking prettier every time. ^_^ muffy is also not the usual crybaby; she's actually quite giggly and seem to enjoy crowds of people. oh, the makings of a showbiz personality!
music 21 had lots of new japanese songs...i actually wanted to take their japanese song book home...you can't blame me, it had gackt and glay on the inside cover!! they now have 4 additional gackt songs, thank goodness. they only had 2 before, "wasurenai kara" and "another world" (which i cannot sing because it was too fast). now they have "last song", "kimi ga matteiru kara" "tsuki no uta" and "kimi ga oikaketa yume". they have A LOT of glay songs! george would have enjoyed an entire day at music 21...my songs this time:
just like a pill - pink
aitai kimochi - glay
LAST SONG - GACKT
winter again - glay
sobakasu - judy and mary
yozora no mukou - smap
sekai ni hitotsu no hana - smap
i for you - luna sea
cruisin' - gwyneth paltrow and huey lewis (duet with jimmy-san)
kimi ga suki da to sakebitai - baad
pare ko - eraserheads
promise me - beverly craven
again - janet jackson
that duet, the senseis said jimmy and i have good harmony...i'm sure they're pulling my leg but still, i was flattened -- er, flattered. after karaoke, i went for coffee with ate bel and alfred-sensei. i'm sure if maricel was there, she'd be over the moon seeing me and alfred-sensei. i swear, she makes up all sorts of weird pairings: guiam and me, melvin and me, alfred-sensei and me...i wonder who the next victim is...i guess this is what i get for trying to stay unattached...
ate bel was so nice; she gave me a ride home. she lives in makati but she (and her driver) brought me straight to my doorstep...if maricel doesn't watch out, i'm going to steal her big sister from right under her nose and she'll get a really bad nosebleed, hehe.
sunday, may 30th
gackt on pop jam!! yipee!! ohisashiburi!! oh my gackt!! he sang "last song", this time accompanied by a piano then an acoustic version of "kimi ga matte iru kara". it was my first time to hear that piano version...i am just surprised at how limitless his talent is. never fails to surprise me everytime, that gackt of mine. ^_^ his voice, according to george, is very powerful and i can't argue with that. it really is. but his speaking voice is quite soft...yeah, that kind you want to hear in bed everytime...right, george?? you might have a different idea about that, though, hehe. finally, my sister saw gackt on pop jam...all the while, she thought tsunku was gackt!! can you believe that?? tsunku and gackt?? no way...i mean, tsunku is presentable enough and he can sing but he's not in the same level as gackt!! never!!
when i woke up the following morning, i had red rashes on my forearm...which led me to believe that gackt must've bitten me while i was asleep. ^_~ awright!!
next week, l'arc~en~ciel guests on pop jam. ^_^ yipee! hyde, come and bite me too...
speaking of gackt...i still don't have my new gackt cd i ordered from
cdjapan. the ems tracking at the japanese post office said that my package arrived in manila on the 28th of may. so it's the philippine post office that's messing up again!! i swear, if they lay their filthy hands on my gackt, they will hear from me!!
