模擬授業 - Trial/practice class
Mojica-sensei (Edwin-sensei) told us that Kouchou-sensei (Betty-sensei) wants our class to have a 模擬授業 as soon as we finish Chapter 5 of the book. As expected, everyone was surprised with the announcement. We weren't happy with it...we were scared! Besides, we thought it was too early to be doing practice classes. Those usually come in the second semester. But Kouchou-sensei insisted that we have it. ASAP. We did bargain that the practice be moved to after the Holy Week, so we have the long vacation to think about what to teach and how to teach. Wipee...not.
Why am I scared? I suppose it's not because I'm scared of teaching...I'm scared of making a fool of myself in front of Kouchou-sensei! Her presence is always so intimidating. If she weren't there, it wouldn't be so bad, but the thing is, she wanted to be there and observe everyone. 校長先生がいなければ、大丈夫かもしれません。でも、模擬授業は先生のアイデアです。ですからいるはずです。恐い。。。
But why should I be scared? Shouldn't I be proud that one of the best Nihongo teachers in the country will be observing me in class? I do not exaggerate when I say 'one of the best'. Kouchou-sensei has been recognized by the Emperor of Japan for her contributions to Nihongo education in the country. Together with Edwin-sensei and Ogata-sensei, they are the pioneers of teaching Nihongo in the country. I am proud to say that I am studying under the very best people in Nihongo education in the Philippines. Reading
this speech by Ambassador Yamazaki during the conferment of Kouchou-sensei's Order of the Rising Sun made me really happy and proud....Teacher ko yan!
Geez...if only it was so easy to measure up to the three of them...just as it is easy to feel proud that I am their student. ^_~
PS: Pag ako naging teacher na, sure ako na magiging mabait ako sa mga estudyante ko...hindi ako mahirap ayain sa gimik. Pag gusto nila ng karaoke, papayag agad ako. Yun na! ^_~

It's official: I am L's number one fan!
Death Note is great and L/Ryuuzaki is brilliant! Finally finished the second part of the movie and do I have to say that I love, love, love it?
L/Ryuuzaki is perpetually slouched and looks looks like a walking question mark. He sucks his thumb and he has childish mannerisms. He loves sweets so much and I can imagine how challenging it was for Matsuyama Ken'ichi to portray someone who has to act weird and eat so much in one movie.
Homer-san, pinagpuyatan namin to! Ika nga ni Kuya Germs, walang tulugan! Shet, ang ganda talaga. Bakit parang gusto kong bumili ng eyeliner na black?
Actually, yun na lang ang kulang, pwede na akong maging si L. I slouch (but not as bad as he does) and I love sweets. ^_^
I Googled (so that's now a verb, Google? Googled? Googling?) some of his (Matsuyama's) pics and I think I already know who he was in Gokusen. Very forgettable, this guy. He wasn't particularly good-looking in Gokusen and he was just a bit player. But in Death Note, he was a revelation. At least for me. He sure succeeded in creeping me out, at the same time, awing me with his tactics during his mental battle with Fujiwara Tatsuya. 格好いい!
For those who haven't seen this one, by all means, please watch Death Note. If you have the money, get the anime and manga as well. That's what I'm going to do. Har-har-har. So the next couple of paydays will be dedicated solely to DN! Kidding.
是非見て下さい、デズノート!

Bad trip na kaklase
Have you ever had a friend whom you do not have regular contact with re-appear in your life after a looooong silence and asks you for a loan?? Well, I have! We have. Teta and I were talking over the phone last night over our HS classmate (in UST-EHS) who suddenly visited her house with another one of our classmates.
Apparently, this guy C needs the money for his wife's operation and O was there with him. They told Teta that they have been to some of our classmates already but they still needed more money for the wife.
Kainis! Why do I feel like we are being obliged to lend him some? Ganun din ba kadali singilin kapag kailangan na namin ng pera? Bakit parang napaka-righteous naman ata ni Toyo? Hoy Toyo, magtigil ka nga sa kakaepal mo, nakakainis ka.
Hay buhay nga naman...

Angie, my idol
Angelina did it again! I love you, Angie! Click here: Jolie flies to Hanoi for son's visa"Everyone would agree that children need to have a family," the paper quoted the Oscar-winning actress as saying. "I have the ability to help children fulfill that desire. Why should I say no?"
Imagine, if we had more Angelina Jolies in our midst (and some more Brad Pitt, sure), then we'd all be at peace...

So happy today!
My good mood is due to the fact that Japinoy is....er, well, I'm not telling! But what I can say is that things are looking really good for Japinoy.com. Membership is increasing due to a couple of nice girls and we're already building the core team that's going to manage the site. Also, ....ok, I'm not talking anymore! ^_^

Death Note デスノート
Finally got to watch the first part of this live action movie. For those who do not know,
Death Note is a manga series about a high school boy (named Light Yagami) who receives a notebook
called "Death Note" from a shinigami called Ryuk. This notebook empowers him to kill anyone just by writing down a name. Light eventually becomes known as
Kira (Killer).
Ryuk has written the rules inside the Death Note. Interestingly enough, he wrote it in English because it is the most popular language in the world. Cute.
The Death Note rules:
- The human whose name is written in this note shall die.
- This note will not take effect unless the writer has the subject's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected.
- If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the subject's name, it will happen.
- If the cause of death is not specified, the subject will simply die of a heart attack. (In the crappy subbed version I have, it says 'heart paralyse')
- After writing the cause of death, the details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
The manga is up to 12 tankobon, plus a 13th volume entitled "Death Note - How to Read". The anime version is expected to reach 37 episodes and a Nintendo DS game has already been released last month.
Now, the movie...we were able to finish the first part. We still have to find a nicely subbed 2nd disc. Hopefully, the subs will be done this month. Shit, bitin na bitin ako. All I can say it that this is a brilliant movie! It is a real battle of the brains between Light Yagami and L. Actually, I'm still torn...I still don't know whose side I'm on. But leaning towards L for the simple reason that I love sweets. Duh, right?
The thumb-sucking L is played by Matsuyama Ken'ichi, who incidentally is the seiyuu of Jealous, another shinigami in the anime. (Might have to watch Gokusen again...his Wiki profile says he was one of Yankumi's students.)
Light Yagami is Fujiwara Tatsuya, well known for his role as Nanahara Shuya in the cult hit, Battle Royale and Battle Royale 2. He also played the role of young samurai Okita Souji in NHK's Taiga dorama for 2004, Shinsengumi.
I hope to get all the Death Note anime and manga volumes. According to our
Japinoy discussions, only the English version mangas can be found locally. I guess for the Japanese ones, I would have to look at Mandarake... *sigh goes my credit card*
I am really, really praying hard that I can get my hands on the second part. This is one brilliant movie, and I cannot say that enough. ^_^

Whatever
Got this from one Yahoo group I'm in. Some things really make you go 'Oh yeah...' ^_~
=============================
Why, Why, Why???
do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are going dead?
Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there is not enough money?
Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?
Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection?
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?
Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?
Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"?
If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?
Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?
Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?
Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?
How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?
When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's all right?" Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, "That hurt, you stupid idiot?"
Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?
In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?
How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?
And my FAVORITE.... ..
The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends - - if they're okay, then it's you.

Hanadan template for J-things
So happy today! I was able to finally login to Multiply after 52 years, and the first thing I did was to change
my site's theme. I accidentally found a Hana Yori Dango theme from one Multiply group I subscribe to and immediately edited my template. Ta-daa! Here is the result:
Hanadan 2 is way better than the first one, IMHO. Shun Oguri is soooo cute in this dorama. I actually prefer him over MatsuJun. Nishikado also improved in the Looks Department. As for Mimasaka...why don't they do something about his teeth? It's like he chewed on
nga-nga (In English, betel nut?) all his life.

Friday's Feast - 9 March 2007
Feast One Hundred and Thirty FourAppetizerWhat is your usual bedtime? Do you like that, or would you rather it be different? >> "Usual" is actually 12 midnight. That's my bedtime lately. Of course, I'd rather it be earlier ;) 8pm, maybe?
Soup
When it comes to advice, do you give more or receive more? >> Give more. I think I'm not really the advice-seeking type. I am stubborn that way. I try to solve things on my own. But if somebody asks me for advice, I am more than willing to share my thoughts.
Salad
Describe a memorable meal you've had. >> Haha. That little dinner Schatz and I had at Figaro. It was my treat, because he took care of the movie and popcorn (Meet the Fockers) ^_~ Memorable kasi...nag-arcade kami?! :P
Main Course
Name a work of fiction that affected the way you think about something. >> Harry Potter. I realized that magic and Wicca (and other similar things) are not necessarily bad for your faith. Some misinformed people actually branded the Harry Potter series as 'anti-Christ'. Like, hello?
Dessert
What is your favorite type of fruit juice? >> Pineapple and mango. Separately, of course.

Don't read, this is a non-sense post
sldoganldfai902758djd;lg. I'm floating, I don't even know why I am writing this sh*t. I'm not feeling too well. I want to sleep for 3 days. I don't want to go to school. I don't want chocolate, I don't want coffee.
Once, there was a way to get back homeward. Once, there was a way to get back home. Sleep little darling, do not cry...and I will sing you a lullabye.
I want to win the lottery too, just like that uber lucky guy from Georgia. I want to be rich and just disappear. Sometimes, there are days when I think it sucks to be me. Seriously. Consider yourself lucky you're not me.

Everyone should have opinions. I'm stubborn, that's why I'm lovable.
Just say 'Yes'. No more arguments. The world will be a better place. Just say 'Yes'. You can't impose your opinions on things you don't own. Let it be.
I was supposed to write about that cute boy wizard who turned sexy stableboy. But I'm not in the mood for cuteness and sexiness right now.

I keep wondering, why do I always get the happy-go-lucky team mate...Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t. I don't deserve this. I'm good, I know. But I'm no super hero. Don't expect miracles from me, especially on days when I feel so crappy.
I never knew that was the market. That's news to me. Now I know. Now I don't have to say anything. "Hai" is the magic word.
Where were you during the July 1990 earthquake? Who cares?
This is my blog, nobody can flame me for the things I write here.
Let me rant, let me cry. I can't express my disappointment and anger in any other way.
